First thing this is an excellent 3D projector working with a “pc – Nvidia 460 gtx, LG 3D internal Blu-ray player, Nvidia 3D vision kit”
Second thing after reading a lot of blogs about problems with the projector. Let this be clear “there is no problem showing 3D in 720p”.
Third if you are running at least fifty (50) feet in ceiling, forget about HDMI 1.4 ,1.3 cable. It just to long. Use a DVI to vga adapter with a high end 50′ vga cable because it will work in 3D at 120Hz without crackling noise or sparkles.

I didn’t buy this for a singular sports event with my buds or for my PS3, I’m using this with 2 laptops and a variety of gear for small venue visuals and am perfectly happy with features, performance, build quality and the brightness in a dimly lit room. Some of this merits explaining. Sports gamma is the brightest of the three available gamma curves. Unlike the same mode on other projectors, it has very little green push. It’s also good about adding definition to the blacks without messing with the black point. I compensated for the green with a slight tint adjustment.

The three most important specifications of any projector are lumen output, ANSI contrast, and absolute black levels. Lumen output dictates how well the projector will handle ambient light and large screen sizes without washing out or becoming uncomfortably dim.
ANSI contrast measures dynamic range, or the brightest and darkest colors the projector can display at the same time. The ‘punch’ of a picture with bright lights and dark shadows is heavily dependent on ANSI contrast. Lower ANSI numbers imply a flatter image with grayer blacks.
Finally, low absolute black levels ensure that in completely dark scenes, black appears black and not a dark slate.

The picture quality is excellent, setup was easy. I was bit worried about the rainbow effect mentioned in some reviews but actually didn’t see any until I started looking for it. You have to really try hard to see it so it is not a problem. Did notice some issues with remote, sometimes I need to press the buttons very hard but after initial setup the remote is only used to turn on and off so that is also not big issue.

The Epson 8350 has a long 2.1 power zoom lens and vertical and horizontal lens shift. What this means is that you can likely put the projector on a bookcase shelf at the side of a room 10-15 feet away from your projection wall or screen and skip any formal installation whatsoever. The second important feature is brightness. Unlike my old projector, the new Epson is bright enough to project a good picture with room lights on. It can easily substitute for a 60 inch flat panel television, with modest light control measures.
